Our summer residential needs you!
Camp Camp is a unique opportunity for twenty LGBT+ young people, aged 13-24, to spend a week away in the countryside near Cambridge. The young people cook, eat and participate in a range of fun and stimulating activities together. The effect on them can be transformative.
Become a Fairy Godparent and give a young person the gift of a life-enhancing week.
Our Fairy Godparent scheme, now in its third year, is a wonderful way to sponsor a young person to attend Camp Camp. Our Fairy Godparents receive invitations to special events, a stewardship report on this year’s Camp Camp, newsletters and an open invitation to visit our office.
Camp Camp 2019 runs from Sunday 28 July-Thursday 1 August. This year, young people from previous Camp Camps are returning yet again to deliver workshops as part of ‘Springboard’, our new youth leadership programme.
The cost of sending a young person to Camp Camp is £500. The cost of inducting young leaders to attend Camp Camp is £750 – which includes ten training sessions ahead of Camp Camp, debriefing and any resources needed for their workshops.
The Kite Trust relies heavily on donations to run Camp Camp. If you cannot donate £500-£750 and become one of our highly-valued Fairy Godparents, any smaller donation is very welcome. To make a donation, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or use the Local Giving button below (the maximum donation enabled on Local Giving is £500).
‘The theme for Camp Camp 2019, chosen by the young leaders, is More than meets the eye and will focus on celebrating the parts of ourselves that aren’t always visible,’ says Jess Borthwick, Camp Camp Director.
Give a young person a summer to remember and become a Fairy Godparent now.
