We’re recruiting for three new roles to support the delivery of our ‘Creating Supportive Environments’ project funded by the National Lottery Community Fund. This project seeks to tackle the root causes of hate in school and family environments across Cambridgeshire, Peterborough, and the wider East of England.

Programme Manager (Schools) 

We’re looking for a strategically-minded leader to take forward our work in schools, including managing our new ‘Creating Supportive Environments’ project over the next three years. With knowledge and experience of the secondary school context in particular, the Programme Manager will lead on the development, delivery, and evaluation of new interventions in schools to sit alongside our ongoing delivery of the Rainbow Flag Award in the East of England.  

Salary – £34,936 

Location – Hybrid between home and Ely, Cambridgeshire with travel to other locations across Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and the East of England.    

Hours – The Kite Trust operates a 4-Day/32 Hour working week Monday-Thursday. The role is available on a full-time basis, however applicants who wish to fulfil the role through part-time, job share, or other flexible working options are welcome.

Schools Worker 

The Schools Worker will lead on the delivery of school-based interventions as part of the ‘Creating Supportive Environments’ project, including workshops for secondary school students and individual support to both the perpetrators, and those impacted by, hate-based behaviours in school.  

You’ll work closely with other members of the team and young people to co-produce the activities and ensure effective evaluation of their impact.  

Salary – £29,561 

Location – Hybrid between home and Ely, Cambridgeshire with travel to other locations across Cambridgeshire, Peterborough, and the East of England.

Project Officer

The Kite Trust is looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Project Officer. This role will be responsible for effective processes that enable us to provide high quality services to LGBTQ+ young people throughout Cambridgeshire, Peterborough, and the surrounding areas and supports the smooth running of the ‘Creating Supportive Environments’ project (2025-2028). 

The Project Officer will support the delivery of both the schools and family strands of the project; undertaking project activity, data collection and analysis for the project evaluation, and the recruitment and supervision of volunteers to support the project’s delivery. 

Salary – £26,335 

Location – Hybrid between home and Ely, Cambridgeshire with travel to other locations across Cambridgeshire, Peterborough, and the East of England.    

Hours – The Kite Trust operates a 4-Day/32 Hour working week Monday-Thursday. The role is available on a 0.5 full-time equivalent/16 hours per week basis, however applicants who wish to fulfil the role through job share, or other flexible working options are welcome.
