#MyWaysToWellbeing

During Mental Health Awareness Week 2023, we are campaigning in support of LGBTQ+ young people’s mental health and wellbeing in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.

#MyWaysToWellbeing highlights a range of positive wellbeing strategies that we can use to keep ourselves well, and places we can reach out to for support if we need help.

Get Support

#MyWaysToWellbeing highlights actions and coping techniques we can use to keep ourselves well. HOWEVER, sometimes we might feel that we cannot cope on our own and need to seek support. Asking for help when we need it is positive!

Here are a few places LGBTQ+ young people can turn to for support in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough:

  • Keep Your Head – brings together reliable information on mental health and wellbeing for children, young people, adults, professionals, and schools across Cambridgeshire & Peterborough.
  • How Are You – is a local online directory bringing together everything in the local community that is good for wellbeing.
  • Centre 33 – supporting any young person up to the age of 25 with their mental health, caring responsibilities, housing, sexual health and more.
  • Lifeline – a free, confidential and anonymous telephone helpline service from 11am – 11pm every day providing listening support and information.
  • Kooth – provide a free, anonymous and safe online wellbeing platform for young people, which along with text based counselling also includes helpful articles, forums, activity centre, daily journal and messaging.
  • Switchboard LGBT+ – provides a one-stop listening service for LGBT+ people by phone, email and instant messaging.
  • NESSie – supports families of children and young people with emotional and mental health needs through workshops, a support line, peer support groups and more.

Are you in a mental health crisis? Then call 111 and select the mental health option.
